chai tea is a brewed black tea prepared with multiple aromatic spices like ginger and cardamom, milk and sugar. This blend gives chai its full-bodied, spice-filled flavor and creamy mouthfeel. While the flavor of chai can vary depending on the spices used, it is often described as being similar to gingerbread or pumpkin spice. Many people also detect notes of vanilla in chai, most likely brought on by the natural flavor of cardamon.
